You download, you pay!

Raise your hand if you never downloaded anything "illegal" on the internet! No, I'm not an internet policeman, but I was caught by one.

I remember when I started, a long long time ago, to download music and small video games. Then, when I needed some special software for a special task, I would downloaded it.
Then, it came the movies! Wow, what a wonderful thing being able to watch old classics or movies that didn't get international releases!

Since I've arrived here I've been using more this "backup" system. Yes, it's "backup" not "illegal copy", because if one day everyone looses the original movies, games or software, I have a "backup" for them! eheheh

But in France they published this new law last year, in order to protect copyrights. Its purpose is to control massive downloads over the internet, which I agree. Internet providers started to alert clients about possible fees and even law suits.
Everyone, me included, thought it was just to scare people away from "backup" activities. I could never be more wrong.

Yesterday I got this very polite "letter" accusing me of "illegal possession" of copyright material! For me "illegal possession" makes me think about that girl from "The Exorcist"!! eheheh
Seriously, this is a goose chase. I found out that they have been sending these "recommendations" almost to everyone.

Now I have a 3 figure fine to pay, because I "backup" from time to time. When I was in school all my IT teachers kept telling to backup, backup, backup... and now I'm a bad guy for that!!

I don't care for music or videogames anymore... but at least they could let me "play" (with) movies!

Be careful because..... they're hereeeeeeeee...

Esses gajos têm a mania que estão à frente da Europa no que diz respeito à lei... Se isso vem para Portugal (lá para 2023), é o fim da macacada!
O que vale é que nós tugas fazemos logo uma manif tão grande que bloqueamos a internet!!!
